Leolux
country | The netherlands |
When it was founded in 1934, leolux was a small workshop employing just a dozen artisans producing traditional furniture. But each decade brought new challenges, innovations, designs and growth. In the fifties, a young designer by the name of Harry de Groot joined the company, adopting new material innovations, including synthetic leathers and newly invented foams that helped leolux create its first contemporary furniture line.
In 2015 the company was awarded the prestigious and coveted reddot award for the Caruzzo armchair. Combining ergonomics, handmade details and a gorgeous design that drew from both classic and contemporary design language to create a truly iconic piece. This is just one of the almost dozen awards leolux has earned for its beautiful designs throughout the decades, which are all displayed along a bridge in the company’s facilities in the southeastern Netherlands’ city of Venlo.
leolux is proud to be a sustainable and green company, hoping to preserve the planet’s beauty and resources for generations to come.
